How is 21st century politics changing? Three areas that will determine future power

How much has the politics of the 21st century changed today? On one hand, there is a war going on between Russia and Ukraine, and on the other hand, Iran and Israel are standing in front of each other. No country is ready to surrender. Every time, there is a change in the time as compared to the previous war. Earlier, wars were fought and now how will war change in the future? Whichever country is ahead in the three major areas of Artificial Intelligence, water crisis and space sector, will lead the world. Whichever country is the most powerful in these three areas will have the most dominance.

In the coming times, there will be mainly three areas in which any country will prove to be the best and powerful in the world, those three areas are.

Artificial Intelligence ( AI )

Artificial Intelligence is a machine or software or technology that has the ability to think, learn and take decisions like a human. Today countries like America, China and Russia have invested heavily in the field of Artificial Intelligence. America has developed technology like the famous Chatgpt. Artificial Intelligence is working in the following areas like education, health, agriculture, security, employment etc. In the coming times, there will be no such area where Artificial Intelligence will not be able to work. Even to fight a war between countries, humans will not fight instead of humans or will be able to do everything and it is possible that in future Artificial Intelligence may also become the reason for war between many countries.

Water Crisis

Many experts are imagining the third world war in the war going on between Iran and Israel. It may not happen now but on water because today due to climate change, water crisis has arisen in the whole world. Dispute on water crisis has arisen in many countries. Like recently India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty which used to give water of India's rivers to Pakistan. India says that there is a shortage of water in its area. Therefore, it will use this water for its citizens. Countries like Israel and China can use water crisis as a soft power as well as a war. And it is possible that in the coming days, war may also happen on water.

Space

Today every country has almost decided its boundaries on the land, as to where which country's land is and where does it extend from. In the coming times, all the countries will be busy in determining their boundaries in space as well. Today big countries like America, China, India and Russia are investing heavily in space technology. Even Elon Musk has developed his own space agency Starlink. In the coming times, the country which will be strong in space will play a major role in internet control, surveillance, connectivity and geo-politics. The country which will be strong in space will automatically become strong on the ground as well, due to which in the coming days, there may be a war between many countries to determine their land in space.

Where is India in all three areas (AI, Water crisis, Space)?

India is a developing country. It is lagging behind developed countries, especially America, Russia and China in all three areas.

India is a rapidly growing country in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The Government of India has taken many steps like NITI Aayog's AI Mission, IndiaAI Portal for Artificial Intelligence. Which can give India an edge in this field in the coming time.

Today, water crisis has also become a national issue for India because India's answers and policies on the issue of water crisis are very weak. Today India is in the grip of water crisis. If India does not solve it in time, then there can be serious consequences.

Today India's position in the field is fine to a large extent. India's space agency ISRO is counted among the top five agencies. India has made many records in the space sector like Mangalyaan, Chandrayaan 3 etc. India is continuously working in the field of space technology and in future it will have to increase its role in the space sector.

Conclusion

The politics of the 21st century has evolved beyond traditional warfare and territorial disputes. Today, the balance of global power is no longer determined solely by military strength, but increasingly by dominance in three critical sectors — Artificial Intelligence, Water Security, and Space Technology. The countries that lead in these areas will shape the future world order.

India, while still a developing country, holds significant potential. In AI, it is emerging as a strong contender with government-backed initiatives. However, in the area of water security, India faces serious challenges that require immediate and sustainable policy reforms. In space, India has already proven its capability with ISRO’s low-cost, high-efficiency missions, but it must continue to invest and innovate to stay competitive.

In the coming decades, the real global superpowers will be those that can think smarter (AI), secure resources (Water), and reach higher (Space). The race has already begun and the future will be won not just on the ground, but in data, in drops, and in the stars.
